Hello and Welcome

I am getting very excited about returning to the beautiful Yucatan. Our travel and study there will be fascinating. There is so much to learn about - the biological diversity, the ancient Maya, the contemporary Maya, Maya mathematics, the history of Mexico, and much more. Also, so much to see - the flamingos at Celestun, the spider monkeys at Punta Laguna, the incredible reef, the cenotes, the gorgeous beaches, the pyramids and temples, the villages, Merida, and much more.
You will all find much to love in Yucatan. I look forward to meeting everyone.
I posted a picture of Miguel Mendez and me. Miguel is our guide and he is the best. A knowlegeable guide and a great friend.

Hi from Colorado

Hey ladies!
I am Ashley from Greeley, Colorado. I attend the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). I just finished my freshman year. I look forward to meeting you all :). I am very excited for this trip, I have never been to Mexico, let alone out of the country. I am new to this blogging thing, so forgive me if I am a little slow. I have a facebook also and would love to hear from any of you before our trip!
Take care
Ashley

Welcome to the 2009 Peace CollegeMexico Program

Hi gals!

Just 23 days before we leave for the beautfiful and exciting Yucatan Peninsula! Get ready to explore prehispanic sites like Chichen Itza, Palenque, and Bonampak as well as museums, markets, ecological reserves .... and much more. I will be sending this year's participant group a letter soon, outlining last minute information.

Does each person have her passport? Have you sent a copy to us. Send these now to Adair Robertson, who will be collecting them from now on. I am posting just a few pictures to let you start thinking about your trip.

Miguel Mendez and Fausto, our guides, also send you their best wishes and are looking forward to meeting all of you.

Please start blogging just as soon as you can. What are you up to? How are you preparing? What are you most looking forward to>
